Annie Sander is first a child of the most-high God. The youngest of six, Annie is happily married to her husband, Todd. And, when she’s not in her mini-van driving her beautiful children around Crystal Lake, she enjoys a nice cup of hot coffee and playing with her Cavalier King Charles, Lucy.
Growing up, music played a big role in Annie’s family — “she was always learning dance moves to R&B artists like Gladys Knight and the Pips, singing on family road trips or pretending to be Olivia from Grease with a hairbrush and a mirror”. Annie discovered her love for music at the age of six when she saw her first professional musical in Chicago; ironically called “Annie”. She was captivated by music and worked hard at honing her vocal skills.
It wasn’t until high school that Annie began pursuing her passion for singing by studying voice and taking to the stage in lead musical roles. Since then, Annie has never stopped singing! She has been a front vocalist for the popular Chicago gigging bands, recorded corporate jingles in Chicago and across the U.S. and lead worship for over 10 years at Willow Creek Community Church alongside her full-time role with the Willow Creek Association (a world-respected ministry training organization to more than one million church leaders) in South Barrington, Illinois.
As an artist herself, Annie found the area of Arts Ministry/Creative Arts to be one she could support not only with her academic and professional background, but also her personal artistic skills as a vocalist and creative leader.
During this time, Annie had the opportunity to travel internationally with Senior Pastor, Bill Hybels to provide worship to tens of thousands alongside award-winning Christian artists such as Darlene Zchech and Tommy Walker.
More recently, Annie accomplished one of her greatest personal ministry goals by recording her first solo; co-written recording project titled, “Brighter Day.” Her debut recording project has gained the attention of Chicago-based Christian concert promoter, Edan Concerts, where she has been asked to perform live with Jeremy Camp on his “Unplugged” tour, SuperChick and Rebecca St. James on her “Passion and Purity” tour. Additionally, Annie has had the opportunity to recently record with Grammy-winner singer/song-writer Richard Marx.
While taking a brief professional reprieve to be the proud mother of Samantha and Luke, Annie continued to seek new ministry opportunities to utilize her creative proficiencies and experiences.
Annie is currently the Worship Leader and Vocal Director for The Compass Church in Naperville, Illinois where she serves a community of over 3,000 members.
